It’s December & Last Minute Gifts

Being Thankful & Thanksgiving

Good Morning, how are you? Did you have a wonderful Thanksgiving? I have heard for some it was bitter sweet, but all said one thing in common that they still had so much to be thankful for.

Sonoma County Yarn Store

We were especially thankful to be able to spend a couple of days with some very good friends, in their first home together and were also joined by our daughter and two granddaughters. We don’t see them very often these days as everyone is so busy, so that was great. Then to another good friend to spend time with them, some of their family and friends of their family which happened to include 3 active military members and one who is now in the reserves. Being surrounded by such energy was great if not a little exhausting. Good times.

December Is Here

Sonoma County Knitting ClassesNow we are welcoming the arrival of December and all of the celebrations this month has to offer. I know some people who knit and crochet all year for this season, and some who set themselves big goals about now in the hopes of completing a bunch of projects in time.

Getting Back to My Knitting

Sebastopol Yarn StoreThought we would tuck in a cute free knitting pattern for the holidays here. Everyone can use an elf this time of year and here is a free pattern for an adorable elf.

OK that is enough from me this week. Don’t forget to check our upcoming classes, we’re working on more for January, but still enough time to get in for a class or two before the years end.

Now I am going to pick up my needles for a while, I have some of my own projects to finish.

Take good care, until next time then, happiness begins with yarn ~ Hugs Trudy

Holiday Specials, Thanksgiving, and You

Happy Thanksgiving

Hi, Good Monday morning again. How are you faring beginning this lovely Fall week?

Sonoma County Yarn StoreCan you believe it will be Thanksgiving in just a few short days? So much to be thankful for this year. It has certainly been quite the year, hasn’t it? I must say I am extremely thankful for you. We have so much fun in the store and the knitting groups keep growing. They get a little boisterous and a little rowdy at times but it is all great fun. They are learning and sharing every visit too.

We have been getting a lot of new knitters and crocheters also. I love that part of the work I do here, teaching and helping people. When they first pick up the needles or hooks, most are excited but nervous, the first row can seem rather scary but after a couple of rows, their faces light up and they are off. Feeling accomplished and already anxious to move on to their next class.

So Many New & Wonderful Classes

Knitting Classes Sonoma CountyHave you checked out all of the classes we are offering? We have put a lot of thought and planning into them so I hope you are able to find just the one you want. If you found one you want to take but the date or time doesn’t work, let us know and we will see if the next time around we can make it work for YOU. Classes coming up include, Brioche beginning and advanced. More Fair isle and Intarsia.

Although it has been pointed out that one can only say real authentic fair isle if it contains specific designs, so how about we call it color work. The people who have recently learned are really enjoying it and moving on to Double knitting.

Madeline’s quick felted and one skein projects are a great hit. I love seeing her work, she is so exuberant, she clearly loves every moment. You can’t help but to get excited too. They really are very quick projects too. Don’t forget also to come and check out the December workshops that Linda and Karen will be doing, choose your projects and be ready to create.

November, Donations & Thank You

November Is Here-So Many Donations

Sonoma County Yarn ShopGood Monday Morning. How are things with you today?

Can you believe we are already in November? It has been a very busy, hectic few weeks hasn’t it, and it will be a long time before it isn’t that way for some. We have received so many donations of yarn etc. for the fire victims, I think we need to hold off for a while now to allow time for people to settle down and realize what is going on in their life.

I have had some people in for the people in their knit club that lost their homes. We need to get the word out though that we do have lots to offer. It would be really nice too, if you have time to come in and pick up some free yarn to make some items to keep people warm, no doubt many will not be in their own homes this winter and all of them will need warmth and love. What could be better for them than a nice hand knitted piece to keep them warm.

Sonoma County Yarn StoreThanksgiving Around the Corner

Thanksgiving is just around the corner, it will a bit of a different Thanksgiving for some, I’m sure. It will also be a very special one.

So, what do we have in store for you, get the pun? Well, we have a lot of classes up on the calendar, I think November is pretty much completed, we still have a few more to go up for December and January. We are adding things all the time, per your requests so keep on checking our website. If you find a class but the time and date doesn’t work for you, let us know and in future months perhaps we can find a better time or day to accommodate.

To go with all of our classes, of course we have lots of yarn, some new and some of the regular staples you love, all restocked, or on their way. Fun things for Christmas, and Hanukah, or any gift even one for yourselves.

Sonoma County Yarn StoreSecret Santa Cards

We also have the secret Santa cards again for you to fill out. This is the easiest thing in the world, and pretty much ensures that your gifts on Christmas morning are exactly what you want. Just come in, fill out a card, your name and what you would like are all that’s needed.

Then tell your loved ones, to come by or they can call either way. We will then let them know what you want and take care of the rest. This year we are making it even easier we will send it for them if they can’t get here. Even gift wrap. This will do two things, make the gift giving season a success for both of you and make sure I know what it is you want so I can make sure to have it on hand. Win, win! We have some husbands now who have come to love it.

Sonoma County Yarn StoreExciting New Books Arriving

We are still working on un-cluttering the book section so that we can get some new and exciting books on our shelves, we are going to try to keep the books to a minimum in the future but never fear we will always do our best to bring you the best.

As a reminder, we are always more than happy to let you browse Ravlery whist you are in the store and can sell the patterns from there, print them for you and you will also have an email copy that you will be able to print at any time and of course it will be in your library. It is so easy to use but if you need help we will gladly show you how.

Remember To Shop Small Business–November 25th

Sonoma County Yarn StoreThis month also is the day we all remember to shop small and keep your money local. Shop Small Saturday November 25th. Special offers and door prizes, and who knows what other treats we will have in store.

I think that is all for now, I am sure I have forgotten something, but I will be back in your inbox in a couple of weeks and you can always check our website, or if you have any questions, comments or ideas please call or email me.

Don’t forget if you have any extra time, or no one to knit for, the yarn is here for you to knit for the victims. No charge for the yarn. Pass it on.

Take care then, until next time, may you find peace and happiness in your daily lives.
