Great New Yarns & Classes

Lots of Yarn On Clearance

Good Morning, I hope this finds you fit and well and you haven’t succumbed to the ailments that are floating around at the moment.

Sonoma County Yarn StoreI am slowly, very slowly making progress and getting caught up on things in the store. We have had a bit of a blitz and put a lot of yarn on clearance. There is nothing wrong with any of it, in fact there is a lot of great yarn in the clearance section, up to 75% discount.

I think this is yarn that I have purchased from other stores and it hasn’t been mentioned, there is so much yarn to tell you about and therefore got overlooked. Anyway, now is your chance to pick up some great bargains. And would you believe it, there are still books on the shelf, now at an 85% discount.

I am now finding the yarn with the best value and workability for you, that is what I really want to offer you. Great yarn, great colors and great value for money. Whether you are in the market for Acrylic, Wool, Alpaca, Cotton, Bamboo, Rayon, blends whatever the fiber you will always get great value. From basic to super luxury we have it here for you.

Many New Classes

Sonoma County Knitting ClassesSonoma County Knitting ClassesI have also been very hard to bring you the classes you have requested. I have sent them off to be put on the website so please take a look and check back often and we will be updating it as we add more and more of what you want.

So far for this month, we have Beginning Knitting, Crochet and spinning, make it fit boot camp, our ever-popular felted hats and totes, monthly skill building in knitting and crochet and the much-requested Knit fix class in February.

I have also today planned out another group of classes which include knitting a sweater form the top down, the heart hat, by request for Valentine’s day, introduction to color work, pattern reading and following charts and much, much more. As always if you don’t see what you need let us know.

Tamara is also working on setting up an online sign up for classes, that will be great. Coming in the near future, Brioche from the beginning, cables and double knitting. Stay tuned.

Happy New Year

Sonoma Country Yarn StoreHi there, I would like to wish you a very Happy, Healthy and Peaceful New Year. I also hope your holidays were wonderful. So many people I have heard have been sick. A lot of bugs out there, I hope you were spared.

If not I wish you a very speedy recovery. Let’s kick those bugs in the butt. Unfortunately, Trevor was pretty sick over Christmas and I managed to hold off until the New Year, I hope it is all behind us now though. I for one am ready to get healthy again and getting the show on the road.

Inventory & Many Thanks

I am afraid I am a little behind at the moment, I closed the store to do inventory on the 2nd but I should really have closed for two days, especially feeling as I did, however it is all done now and I don’t have to think about it for another year. Thank you to all of you that came in to give me a hand, I could not have done it without you. Now I hope it will be full speed ahead.

What Class Would You Like to Take?

Sonoma Country Yarn StoreI have had a lot of people enquiring about classes, I know I am a little behind with that too, but I promise I am working on it.  Unfortunately we have lost MaryAnne for a few months, she has gone back to her real job for the tax season. She has promised to come in and knit with us though when she can take a break from all of those numbers.

We have a sign-up sheet in the store where you can request classes you are interested in and when you are available to take said classes, so with a little time and planning we will soon have them up and running again.

Come in or let me know if there is something specific, you would like to see offered. Remember we keep our classes really small so it only takes a few of you to make a class if you are interested.

New Yarn Chases the Winter Blues Away

Sonoma County Knitting ClassesWell with inventory behind us, I will soon be back to writing about some of the great new yarns we have in the store.

So many people have been asking for yarn made without wool, for various reasons, so we have a wide selection of fantastic non-wool yarns in the store.

Cottons, Rayon, Viscose, Linen, Sugarcane, all sorts. Of course, we have lots of wool and Alpaca too and lots of blends. Really there is something for everyone.

Deep Discounts 75-85% OFF

With all that said, we are trying to streamline our suppliers so, we have some terrific bargains on yarn that we will no longer be carrying, some yarn is discounted up to 75% you had better check them out quickly though because once they are gone they are gone. I am also increasing the discount on many of the books we have, the discount on books will now be 80%. Can you believe it. I really want to update the book area but I can’t until I can make more room. The books are all good resources and a lot are timeless classic information.

Free Pattern–Outlander Cowl

Sonoma County Yarn RackThis a wonderful cowl pattern resembles the cowl that Claire wears in the Outlander series. This pattern is simple of enough for the most beginner knitter since it you only need to know how to do a knit stitch.

This is where your yarn choice will really make this accessory shine and it knits up in about 2 hours–fun, fast, and a great gift! This is worked on size 19 needles with 2 strands of bulky yarn, think Malabrgio or some of our other hand dyed yarns. Thank you ABC Knitting for this great pattern.

Have fun this is one of those knitting projects that you can really destress with since it takes no thinking. Here is the link to the ABC Knitting pattern:
