Come join our felted hat class where you will learn all about the felting process. You will knit this simple hat and learn how to felt it in order to produce what becomes a unique and beautiful hat. Felted hats are fast easy projects and once you learn how to make one, you will want to make several for friends and family.
New techniques include:
In this class you will learn how to cast-on and knit carrying two yarns, what goes into shaping a hat that will be felted, and a handy little trick to make absolutely sure you don’t twist your yarn when you connect your work in the round.
For this class you need to know how to:
Cast-on, knit and purl. While this is not a beginning class, the project is certainly appropriate for a newbie to the knitting scene.
Purchase yarn, and needles. If possible, using two strands of yarn, cast-on 100 stitches on Size 11-24″ circular needles. If you are unfamiliar with casting-on, bring everything to class and I will help you learn this technique. But if you are an experienced knitter casting on at home will save time.
You will need:
- Fiber Trends Felted Hat Pattern (AC1)
- 2-Skeins of Cascade 220 yarn, wound
- 2 Size 11 circular needles: 1-24″, 1-16″.
- 10 stitch markers that fit over a size 11 needle.
