Good Morning, I hope this finds you well and happy.
Yes, soon to be Easter, just a few more days, do you have anything planned? Will it be a busy weekend or will you be relaxing on your own or with friends and family? I have a lot going on at the moment. Not only at the shop but at home too.

Home & Moving Again
Don’t worry, not the shop. Preparing to move to a temporary home while we get our home ready to sell, and then the job of finding our new permanent and hopefully forever home. So many moves over the years, it’s crazy when I think about it. One thing I know for sure it never gets any easier. Where we live now is the longest we have lived anywhere together. In fact, apart from moving out of my parents’ home at the age of 20, the house I was actually born in, this is the the longest I have ever lived anywhere.
Still there comes a time for really settling down. I thought we had done that 12 years ago, but we were younger then and the big house was just what we wanted, now, we realize that we want to go back to a smaller cozy place. So, as I sit here writing to you today I am surrounded by boxes. What to keep and what to let go, a hard question. People used to ask me where home is? My answer then and will always be – where my cats are.
Thankful for My Crafts & Gardening
Have you moved around a lot? So many things change but then so many are just the same. Thank goodness for my yarn, cross stitch, paints, books, gardening etc. etc. This will be the last Easter in our present home. Lots of memories. Our granddaughters were only little when we moved here, Olivia 6 and Victoria 8, now they are young women. Gone are the days of the Easter Egg hunts, happy memories though.
Beautiful Summer Yarn is Here
So now spring is definitely here, although we haven’t quite finished with the rain. If only it would just rain at night while most of us are sleeping, I don’t want much, do I? it is time to be working on those summer tops and shawls etc. and we have an enormous array of summer weight yarn. A full color range of cotton, linen, silk and mixtures, you are sure to find just what you are looking for.
As always, we have plenty of samples and suggestions in the store, Linda Will be teaching a lovely top down shell too. Some people think the samples in the shop are very difficult but really if you can knit and purl, or chain and double crochet, they are within your reach. As always someone will be here to help you every step of the way.
One of the tops that gets a lot of attention is a basic shell done in the Ripple yarn. Just 4 balls, three different colors and a basic pattern is all you need. The yarn and a little imagination does the rest. We have at least two new knitters who are knitting top down cardigans at the moments, they are having a ball and excited by the whole experience. YOU CAN DO IT!!!
Don’t forget the wine tasting this weekend, Saturday 15th from 1 – 4pm. Of course you can bring you knitting and sit and knit for a while too.
Washing Superwash Wool
Something that has just been brought to my attention Important is washing superwash wool. With the new high efficiency washing machines that use much less water, you need to take extra steps when using this yarn. The lack of water and therefore the more agitation can cause felting.
Therefore you must use the soak option, or the handwash wool option to avoid this. Best advice, put garment inside a lingerie bag or light pillow case, wash alone and keep an eye on the water level. Never wash with heavy items, i.e. towels, jeans etc. You may want to think about this too with store bought items when washing. I hope this helps, if in doubt contact the manufacturer.
OK before I finish this week I wanted to remind you of some upcoming Classes this month; we have Beginning Knitting tomorrow the 11th, Begin Crochet the 18th, Two at a Time toe up Socks Wednesday evening 19th and Saturday late morning the 29th and Needle Felting cat or dog Thursday 20th.
