Hi Happy Memorial day!
I hope you have something nice planned. Spending time with family and friends is great but there are so many people that are away trying to keep us all safe. I hope you will take a moment, pause, and think of them and where they are and what they are doing to keep us free.
I want to send out a big thank you from us at Yarnitudes to all of our service men and women who are at home and far away.
Well our fifth Anniversary has come and gone now. We had so many participants’ names in the bowl by Friday that it was hard to draw just three, but we did. The winners are – Madeline, Heather, and Sue. I will be contacting them soon to let them know that they are the lucky winners and give them their prizes. The extra 10% off all the sale items, apart from the $2 bargain bin, will continue until the end of the month. There are still bargains to be had so don’t lose out. Thank you for helping us clear out old stock so we can make room for the new!
As you may know I am getting ready for my final trip to see my mum this year. It has been great to be able to go and see her as often as I have but this will be my last visit now until next year. It seems she has rebounded quite well from her bad start to the year so that is quite a relief. Hopefully she will continue to improve now. I am, all being well, taking my eldest Granddaughter to see her this time. I know that will make them both happy. Then I need to get back here to plan for the rest of the year at the shop. If you want me to bring any sheep, bunnies, hedgehogs, or teddies back with me please call and let me know. We will add them to our shopping list. It is never too early to plan your holiday shopping. We won’t be able to get more after this trip until next year!
I hope you will save the date on 23rd and 24th of July because you are in for a treat. More to come on that soon! Save it to say we have been extremely busy planning what is sure to be a lot of fun.
The World Wide Knit in Public day is next month. It is Saturday, June 18th to be exact. I will be knitting of course, unfortunately, not in this country. So I will be unable to knit with you. I hope to do something with this event next year. However if you are interested in hosting or joining a group for this visit the website: http://www.wwkipday.com. This is a great site to find out all you need to know. If you can’t find something there that appeals to you, then you can always come and knit with someone at the store. If you belong to a knitting group of your own and perhaps you don’t have a venue one day, just let us know and you can all come here and hang out for a change. Of course if you don’t, you can always join one of ours on Wednesday evenings or Friday afternoons. You will always be welcome to knit or crochet with us.
We have some great new samples in the store. If you haven’t been in for a while you might just want to pop in and see them. They are made in some of our new yarns. Some are knitted, and some are crochet. It is great to see how the actual yarn works up.
Seeing yarn on the skein is one thing but in a garment is another. You may have noticed, or notice that we have more crochet classes coming up. Now that we are getting more interest in the crochet side you will see more classes on this.
Coming up next month we have the Crochet Lace Rapper, the versatile poncho/shrug/wrap! Most things that you can knit you can also crochet and often vice versa. If you have an interest in something specific please let us know. We have so much summer weight yarn in and some amazing ideas for what you can make from them. You never need to stop knitting or crocheting. You can knit a year round wardrobe and we are here to help you do it. We have lots of linen, cotton, viscose, and silk in so many wonderful colors you just have to see them all to believe how good they are.
Well just one more newsletter to come from me next week, then I will be handing it all over to Lesley to take care of you while I am gone. Until next week then enjoy your yarn and your freedom.
Back soon ~ Trudy
