Hello, Hello, Hello,
I was just remembering that saying from an old TV show from the UK when I was growing up. The character always said that. Anyway, I hope you are doing well and that life is being good to you and you happy and healthy.
I hope you have been able to take advantage of our Anniversary specials, an extra 10% off of the already reduced prices on all our sale and clearance stock. Of course make sure to enter the drawing for our give away. Each time you visit the store until May 20th put your name and phone number in the pot for a chance to win. We will be drawing a winner on May 20th.
I was thinking about what to write about this week. Having just taught another beginning knitting class it took me back to the knit stitch. Yep the good old K. You can’t knit much without it. As some of you may know my first class is done purely in the knit stitch. This enables the student to absorb the muscle memory of knitting. This way it really sticks before students move on to the purl which opens the door to a whole new world of knitting.
There is a book titled The Knit Stitch by Sally Melville, which is all about the good old knit stitch. There are so many things that can be accomplished with the knit stitch that there is no hurry to move on until it is firmly ingrained in your mind and muscles.
Once this is achieved then it’s easier to move on to The Purl Stitch – another book by Sally Melville. We have both in the store. Check them out. Sometimes it is nice to go back and see where it all began.
It is just over a week now until our Yarn and Knitters Pride needle tasting on May 14th. Don’t miss out on this FREE opportunity to try out an amazing array of yarn and many different types of needles. You will be amazed at the differences. We cannot guarantee there will be space for you unless you let us know you will be attending. We do not want anyone to be disappointed, so RSVP ASAP OK? How’s that for alphabet soup?
Just as an FYI we have sold out of toy hedgehogs and only 4 bunnies left, so if you want a bunny, hurry in. Let us know if you want a hedgie and I will bring more home on my next trip to England.
Quick reminder it is second Monday Spinning night with Karen tonight from 5:00-7:00pm. Stop by for social spinning or to get a few pointers!
Also, it is not too late to join the Wednesday night (6:00-7:00pm) knit a long with Madeline. There are 2 great tops to knit!
OK, sending this over to Lesley now to get this out on the World Wide Web. I hope I have given you a little to think about this week and something to whet your appetite.
Until next week then – happy times with your yarn,
